About Event

What is a bird jog?

A Bird Jog is a gentle, curiosity-led introduction to running (or jogging… or walking… or vibing) while noticing the birds around us.

This is not about pace.
This is not about distance.
This is definitely not about being “a runner.”

This is about trying something new — in a space that feels safe, supportive, and maybe even a little playful.

What to Expect

🏃‍♀️ A light, beginner-friendly jog through Central Park
🐦 Periodic stops to observe birds, reset, and reconnect
🌿 Movement at your pace — no one gets left behind
💬 Encouragement, curiosity, and community throughout
💛 A low-pressure, neurodivergent-friendly space to explore something new

We’ll move together, pause often, and use the birds as our excuse to slow down, look up, and breathe.

🕒 Timeline

11:30— Meet-up & intros
11:40 — We begin our jog (nice and easy, I promise)

We’ll take breaks along the way — for birds, for water, for vibes.

💛 What if I’m nervous?

That’s completely okay.

Trying something new — especially something like running, or showing up to a group — can feel vulnerable. You are not the only one feeling that way.

This space is designed for that exact feeling.

You don’t need to be:
• Fast
• Experienced
• Outgoing
• Or even confident

You just need to show up.

You can:
• Go at your own pace
• Take breaks whenever you need
• Talk as much or as little as you want
• Walk the whole time if that’s what feels right

There is no falling behind here. No one is “watching” you. We’re all just people trying something a little new, together.

And honestly? The birds don’t care how fast you run 🦆

🌿 Reminders (aka: set yourself up for success)

• No binoculars needed — the birds will come to us 🐦

• Gloves = your best friend if it’s cold 🧤

• Pack light — we’re here to move!

• Comfy shoes only — this is a no-blister zone

• I’ll keep an eye on the weather and send updates if anything shifts 🌤️
