Build for Ireland: OpenAI x Give(a)Go x Dogpatch Labs

​Build for Ireland brings 150 to 200 builders together at Dogpatch Labs for a one-day AI build event focused on using public datasets to help Ireland work smarter.

​Teams will use publicly available data to build practical AI solutions around traffic, public transport, public infrastructure, local services and other real problems. Publicly available camera feeds and ways to connect local businesses through MCP are possible starting points. The brief is open: find a problem facing Ireland, use the available data, and build something that can be demonstrated by the end of the day.

​OpenAI will provide credits to participants to build their projects.

​Who should apply

​We’re looking for engineers, technical founders, researchers, designers and strong recent graduates who like building and shipping. Applications are reviewed based on your experience, what you have built and what you want to explore on the day.

​Format

• ​A practical one-day build event using Codex and OpenAI tools

• ​A short briefing on the challenge and available public data

• ​Time to form a team, build and test an idea

• ​Project submissions in the afternoon

• ​Eight selected teams sharing short demos

• ​OpenAI credits for participants

​The demos are a relaxed showcase. There is no formal judging panel or cash prize. The focus is useful work, strong teams and projects that can continue after the event.

• ​13:00 Lunch

• ​16:00 Project submissions

• ​16:30 Selected demos

• ​17:30 Close

​Final timings will be confirmed before registration opens.

​Build for Ireland is delivered in partnership with OpenAI, Give(a)Go and Dogpatch Labs, as part of Dublin AI Week and NDRC programming.

​Photography and data protection

​Photos and videos will be taken during the event and may be used to report on and promote Build for Ireland, Dublin AI Week and related OpenAI, NDRC and Dogpatch Labs events. If you prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please email marketing@dogpatchlabs.com before the event or speak to a member of the event team when you arrive.

​Registration information will be accessible to and processed by Give(a)Go and Dogpatch Labs. Give(a)Go and Dogpatch Labs will use this information to administer the event, communicate with participants, form teams, manage attendance and prepare programme reports.
