About Event

Sandra Jackson-Opoku—award-winning novelist, poet, journalist, and educator—joins The Paseo Project and Hotel Willa as our March 2026 Artist in Residence. Her richly layered work explores history, travel, and the lived experiences of the African diaspora, weaving lyrical prose with deep cultural inquiry. On Thursday, March 19 at 5:00 PM, Jackson-Opoku will present a public artist talk reflecting on her literary practice, research, and time in Taos. Author of The River Where Blood Is Born and Hot Johnny (and the Women Who Loved Him), her writing bridges continents and generations while examining identity, place, and belonging. Free and open to the public. Reading Room @ Hotel Willa, 233 Paseo del Pueblo Sur, Taos.
