​Akido operates what it describes as the first AI-native health system in the country: roughly 100 clinics alongside virtual care and field medicine services, reaching a population of a million patients across California, New York City, and Rhode Island, with about 250 clinicians practicing across 26 specialties. Its proprietary technology, ScopeAI, restructures the visit itself: a medical assistant meets with the patient while the system listens and adapts its questions in real time, then hands the physician a structured clinical picture including a primary diagnosis, alternatives, and recommended next steps, with every recommendation reviewed and approved by a licensed provider.

​Founded in 2015 out of Y Combinator, Akido has raised more than $100 million, most recently a $60 million Series B led by Oak HC/FT, and operates across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid contracts including a street medicine program serving unhoused patients in Los Angeles.
