Horror Writing for Beginners
Do you like scary stories? In this two-hour class, award-winning author and lifelong horror fan Nino Cipri (Dead Girls Don't Dream) will guide students through the process of writing horror fiction. Along the way, we'll explore what the horror genre is, why we love it, and what it offers in a time when real-life horrors are competing for our attention.
Here's how it'll go:
Meet your fellow attendees (terrifying)
Introduction to the horror genre
Discuss & write fragments based on horror archetypes
Write a short form scene (e.g. "Something is wrong here")
Learn about story structure & horror characters
Write another scene or two!
Share your favorite snippets with your group, if you're feeling particularly brave
This class is welcome to writers of all levels and experience. Come prepared to write, talk, and hopefully have fun.

Our studio is located at 21-07 41st Avenue. When you get to the building, please use the intercom to the left of the door to find The Collaboratory or 213 in the directory. We will answer your call and buzz you in remotely.
Once inside, you can take the elevator to Floor 2 and find us in Studio #213.
MASK REMINDER
The Collaboratory is a *Masks Required* space. 😷 We also run two air filters/purifiers during our gatherings. If you don't arrive with a mask, don't worry—we'll have them available at the door.

REFUND POLICY
At this time the QNSC is unable to issue refunds except on a case by case basis. If you are unable to attend an event for which you have purchased a ticket, tickets can be transferred to another person at the buyer's arrangement.
