​A guided walking tour of Benjakitti Forest Park lead by one of the project team members from Arsom Silp Institute of the Arts who was involved in the design and planning of the project.

​How to prepare for the tour: 

​Since this will be outdoors & involve some walking, please dress appropriately & comfortably taking into account Bangkok's weather during this time of year. Consider the following:

• ​Possibility of Rain

• ​Hat or Umbrella (for shade and/or rain)

• ​Comfortable walking shoes

• ​Breathable, loose-fitting clothes that cover most of your skin to protect from evening bugs (i.e. mosquitoes) & keep you cool

• ​Sunscreen

• ​Bug spray

• ​Reusable Water bottle (to stay well hydrated!) -- there are water fountains around you can refill

​!! Per BKKCAW's sustainability guidelines, and as well we should always be mindful of, please DO NOT bring any disposable, single use, plastic packaging to this event !!

​As far as is feasible, please consider commuting to the event via more sustainable modes of transportation such as using one of the mass transit systems (BTS/MRT/buses), walking, biking, carpooling, or MUVMI app (shared last-mile EV tuk tuks).

​วิธีการเตรียมตัวสำหรับทัวร์:

เนื่องจากเป็นกิจกรรมกลางแจ้ง และต้องเดินบ้าง โปรดแต่งกายให้เหมาะสมและสบายตัว โดยคำนึงถึงสภาพอากาศของกรุงเทพฯ ในช่วงเวลานี้ของปี โปรดพิจารณาสิ่งต่อไปนี้:

• ​อาจมีฝนตก

• ​หมวก หรือ ร่ม (สำหรับร่มเงา และ/หรือ ฝนตก)

• ​รองเท้าเดินที่สวมใส่สบาย

• ​เสื้อผ้าที่ระบายอากาศได้ดี หลวมๆ ที่ปกปิดผิวส่วนใหญ่ เพื่อป้องกันแมลงในตอนเย็น (เช่น ยุง) และทำให้คุณรู้สึกเย็นสบาย

• ​ครีมกันแดด

• ​สเปรย์กันแมลง

• ​ขวดน้ำแบบใช้ซ้ำได้ (เพื่อให้ร่างกายได้รับน้ำอย่างเพียงพอ!)

​Background about the project:

Benjakitti Park, an urban oasis in Bangkok, emerged from a former Tobacco factory site. It spans 720,000 sq.m, serving as an educational hub about ecology, hydrology, and environment. This initiative retains 128,000 cu.m. of rainwater, generating 1,600 cu.m. clean water/day. Addressing floods and droughts with nature-based solutions, it acts as a 'sponge', employing bioremediation for purification. The park fosters a wildlife habitat, housing 360 tree species, transforming swampland into a rich ecosystem. It incorporates sustainable techniques, reusing materials, and repurposing factory buildings for museums and sports centers. Accessible to all, it's a sanctuary within Bangkok, fostering a diverse, nature-centric experience - a biodiverse classroom for city dwellers.

สวนเบญจกิติ โอเอซิสกลางเมืองในกรุงเทพฯ เกิดขึ้นจากพื้นที่โรงงานยาสูบเก่า ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ 720,000 ตารางเมตร ทำหน้าที่เป็นศูนย์กลางการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับนิเวศวิทยา อุทกวิทยา และสิ่งแวดล้อม โครงการนี้กักเก็บน้ำฝนได้ 128,000 ลูกบาศก์เมตร ผลิตน้ำสะอาดได้ 1,600 ลูกบาศก์เมตรต่อวัน สวนเบญจกิติทำหน้าที่เสมือน "ฟองน้ำ" โดยใช้กระบวนการบำบัดทางชีวภาพเพื่อบำบัดน้ำเสีย สวนเบญจกิติส่งเสริมแหล่งที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ป่า เป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของต้นไม้ 360 ชนิด เปลี่ยนพื้นที่ชุ่มน้ำให้กลายเป็นระบบนิเวศที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ สวนเบญจกิติผสมผสานเทคนิคที่ยั่งยืน การนำวัสดุกลับมาใช้ใหม่ และการนำอาคารโรงงานกลับมาใช้ใหม่เพื่อใช้เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์และศูนย์กีฬา เข้าถึงได้ทุกคน เสมือนเป็นพื้นที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ในกรุงเทพฯ ส่งเสริมประสบการณ์ที่หลากหลายและเน้นธรรมชาติ เสมือนห้องเรียนที่มีความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพสำหรับคนเมือง
