​​The Climate Party® is building a Scenius - collective genius - for Climate solutions in India.

​​Climate Parties are a series of immersive learning & ecosystem building events curated to enable interdisciplinary solutionists, either already working in or seriously considering a transition to the Climate space, to discover more of their kind across domains and cross-pollinate ideas for collaborative action.

​About the event

​When we think of fashion, we think of the latest trends, brands, and the need to consume. Yet, when we think of sustainability, we think of data, policies, and complex jargon. However, somewhere in the middle of these extremes lies the idea of choosing better!

​Our equation with fashion is a reflection of our choices when it comes to how we live, consume, and find meaning. For this edition of the Mumbai Climate Party, we are partnering with Gaurav Jai Gupta, founder of Akaaro - a slow fashion brand that encapsulates timeless design and furthers innovation while celebrating the rich legacy of Indian textiles and crafts. Gaurav's work has found honour in the research archives of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. In the past, he has worked with brands such as Jimmy Choo & has been the only fashion designer to have a solo cover feature on India Today.

​We will dive deep into what sustainability in fashion means at the fundamental levels of design, craft & spirit. Strictly no data, no jargons - only the art of making better choices.

​This conversation hosted at Akaaro's studio - a thoughtfully designed space reclaiming old fixtures to eliminate waste - will take you through a journey of thinking about fashion consumption from the lens of authenticity, longevity and value systems.

​This is an invitation to reflect, question and ponder choices. You will definitely leave with new perspectives & better questions.
