Description

In 2008, Dr. Soyeon Yi became the first South Korean astronaut, flying aboard Soyuz TMA-12 to the International Space Station. During her mission, she conducted a series of microgravity experiments, including studies on plant growth, fruit flies, and human physiology in space.

Join us for an interview and Q&A with Dr. Soyeon Yi on her path from researcher to astronaut, her work aboard the ISS, the scientific goals and results of her experiments, and the realities of conducting research in orbit. Come prepared with questions about astronaut training, microgravity science, Korea’s role in space research, and life aboard the International Space Station.
