Dear You (《给阿嬷的情书》) Film Screening

​Join the Committee of 100 for a special screening of Dear You (《给阿嬷的情书》), a moving Chinese drama about family, migration, love, and the enduring connections preserved through generations.

​The film follows a debt-ridden grandson who travels to Thailand in search of the grandfather he believes abandoned his family. His journey uncovers a decades-old story of love and sacrifice, told in part through qiaopi (侨批)—letters and remittances sent home by overseas Chinese migrants to their families. Set between China and Southeast Asia, the film explores family secrets, separation, and the bonds that endure across borders and generations.

​Directed by Lan Hongchun, Dear You is primarily in the Teochew/Chaoshan dialect and will be presented with English subtitles.
