Introducing Secret Jardim de Sebze 🌿🌿
Tucked away in a private garden in Graça, this home is a dinner party dream come true ✨. Come gather around a long farm-style table set under an enchanting tree and the night sky, engage in illuminating conversations and share colourful dishes inspired by the mingled trade route histories of the Middle East and Mediterranean cultures. Leave your shoes at the door and enter a carpeted secret space with twinkling lights, vintage furniture and eclective decor. OneThousandClub gets private access to this secret garden for May to kick off our Dinner at Home series outdoors.
Meet Your Host: Alexandra Corrine Ryan
Alexandra is the founder behind Sebze Lisboa: a travel inspired catering company based in Portugal but with roots in Turkish cuisine. Sebze, meaning “vegetable” in Turkish, is inspired by the rainbow of fresh produce available year round and the way in which the flavors of the Mediterranean to the Middle East can mingle together to create new stories through living recipes. Each menu is guided by a vibrancy of color, a layering of spices and a handful of herbs.
Alex recently opened this pop-up dinner party space as a "home, not a restaurant" and will start serving meals in her big garden.
🥗 The Menu: friendly to vegetarians and non-vegetarians 🥗
Meze Starters:
Vegetable “manti” (mini dumplings) with a side of garlic & dill yogurt -Baked feta with a savory tapenade, mixed nuts and honey -Muhammara
Cashew cheese and spinach spread
Avocado and beet chimmi-churri carpaccio -Slightly grilled zucchini and leek flatbread
For the accompanying side: Mujadara rice with green lentils, caramelized red onion and a sprinkling of mint
Veggie and Vegan-friendly main: Grilled seasonal vegetables served over creamy roasted eggplant & basil dip with pine nuts, herbs and baked crispy chickpeas
Main: Slow cooked tender beef marinated in a rich tomato sauce served beside creamy roasted eggplant & basil dip
Something Sweet: dark cacao and ginger fudge brownie bites beside coconut date caramel green apples with crumbled hazelnuts
