This hands-on workshop will help you start or improve your ability to care for chickens, from essential care techniques to integrated permaculture systems that will make the process easier and more rewarding.
Whether you already have your own flock, or are dreaming of starting your own, this comprehensive workshop will equip you with the practical skills and confidence to holistically care for healthy and happy hens.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Care for chickens holistically, including nutrition planning, parasite management, and preventative health practices
Safely handle birds and perform essential care techniques like health assessments and wing clipping
Understand how to design secure systems with appropriate flock sizes, predator protection, and housing suited to your scale
Choose feed strategies and natural pest management practices to grow a healthy flock

Tickets

Food
Please bring your own lunch. No food will be provided. The closest restaurant to the farm is The Summit Drive-In, which is a burger shack. Please bring a water bottle and feel encouraged to bring your own snacks. Try to eat a hearty breakfast to avoid any hunger distractions.

Refund Policy
A 90% refund will be provided upon cancellation if we are notified 1 week in advance (3/28/26 at 9:00am). The 10% not returned accounts for the GoDaddy processing fee as well as our registration fees. We can provide a refund of 50% up until two days before the workshop begins (4/2/26 at 9:00am). However, due to preparation expenses, we are unable to provide a refund if a cancellation occurs within two days before the workshop begins.
