Session 1: The work before the prompt

​Everyone wants the perfect prompt. It is the first thing people ask me for, and almost always the wrong question. You have seen the slick demo where AI nails it first time, gone back to your desk, typed something similar and got beige. So you assume the fix is a better prompt, or the next tool. It isn't, and that is the trap.

​The prompt is the last 5%. The other 95% is the work you do before you type a word: the thinking, and the graft of distilling a mountain of information down to the actual insight. AI is a brilliant graduate who has read the entire internet and never had a real job. It knows everything except your world, and it has the memory of a goldfish. So people dump in every file they own, files never built for AI, and get beautifully generic answers back. Information isn't insight, and that part is still yours.

​I will show you the real work before the prompt on a live, sanitised example, and where it lives, from a throwaway chat to the start of a proper AI operating system. You will leave with a framework you can use on Monday, and a sharper sense of where your time is best spent. On the thinking, not the typing.
