Beyond Silos #1: Fighting Fraud Together
What AMLR Article 75 changes for Luxembourg's financial sector
Financial crime does not stop at institutional boundaries, but fraud detection still largely does. Each institution monitors its own customers and its own transactions, while organised fraud moves freely across banks, payment providers and borders.
The EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation introduces, in AMLR Article 75, a framework for partnerships for information sharing between obliged entities. For the first time, institutions will have a clear legal basis to exchange information for AML/CFT purposes under defined safeguards.
The framework alone does not catch fraud. What matters is how institutions prepare: which partnerships they form, which safeguards they put in place, and which technical approaches allow collaboration without exposing customer data.
Held on 29 September 2026 at the LHoFT in Luxembourg, Beyond Silos #1: Fighting Fraud Together brings together compliance leaders, fraud teams and technologists for an evening of focused sessions, an institutional panel, a technology demonstration and open networking.
The first edition establishes a shared understanding of what Article 75 changes, why cross-institutional fraud detection matters, and what preparation looks like in practice. Deeper technical and operational themes will be explored in later editions.
“Financial crime doesn't stop at institutional boundaries. Soon, fraud detection won't have to either.”
Participants will leave with:
A clear, jargon-free understanding of what AMLR Article 75 changes for their institution
A realistic picture of why fraud detection fails when institutions work alone, and what cross-institutional detection requires
Insight into how peer institutions are preparing for data sharing
A concrete demonstration of how privacy-preserving technology can make collaboration possible without exposing customer data
An open path to shape the series going forward as a Host Committee member
The programme will also include a demonstration of HOLMES, DESILO's solution for cross-institutional fraud detection on encrypted data. The demonstration will show how the challenges raised during the panel can be addressed in practice using privacy-preserving computation, exploring whether institutions can collaborate on fraud detection without sharing raw customer data.
Who should attend: Compliance, AML/CFT and fraud leaders, as well as data and technology decision-makers at Luxembourg financial institutions.
