OAISI Policy Ai Policy Seminars!
If you've previously wanted to engage with AI policy but don't know how to get started, this is a great chance! We highly recommend that you come along (must sign up) and enjoy what is sure to be an informative and interesting event!
Topics:
Week 3: The use of AI-powered lethal autonomous weapons and military AI in conflicts
Week 5: Great power competition and the "AI arms race" narrative
Week 7: Big Tech, compute, and AI governance through infrastructure
Do not feel that you need any AI-safety experience to attend, these seminars are a great chance to build context and engage with common AI-safety discourse. We think this is a great way to upskill to do one of our research programs, fellowships or governance roundtable, but also a great way to chat to other people with similar interests.
There will be plenty of snacks and drinks (including Boba for every participant), and it should be a very social atmosphere with interesting discussion (a bit like a reading group, with no compulsory reading). For the first part we will have a speaker and then we will have discussions.
Please do sign-up (it is important for dietary and other reasons, and should take less than two minutes), and we look forward to seeing you there!
