Memori Film Screening

Join us on 1st September 2025 for a powerful and emotionally resonant screening of Memori, an award-winning Malaysian film exploring memory, family, and the ties that bind us across generations. Presented by Entertainment Technologists in collaboration with The African Film DAO, and Timbuktoo Hub, the screening will take place at the historic District Six Homecoming Centre in Cape Town — a location rich with cultural and historical significance. Once a vibrant community forcibly uprooted during apartheid, District Six was home to many Cape Malay families, whose stories of displacement and resilience echo the emotional core of Memori. The film’s themes of fading memory, familial love, and the urgency to preserve the past are deeply aligned with the lived history of this space, making the screening a poignant and symbolic event. Its theatrical release in Asia started in July, 2025. Memori offers buyers and distributors a uniquely moving, cross-cultural story destined for international recognition.
