Autumn Seasonal Talk: Care Economy - Part II
We warmly invite you to join us for the second gathering in our Seasonal Series at Be Hive Cape Winelands — a rhythm of coming together through the year to explore what it might mean to live into a more regenerative, life-affirming future.
At Be The Earth, we see the Care Economy as the often unseen foundation that holds life together. The web of care, relationships, and labour (both paid and unpaid) that sustains people, communities, and ecosystems. Rooted in values often carried through feminine wisdom — nurturing, interdependence, and deep listening — it invites a reimagining of what we value, prioritise, and invest in.
This second edition brings together diverse perspectives on the Care Economy, with:
Samantha May — Chairperson of the Small Town Regeneration Strategy and Ignite Youth Group
Marlene Ogawa — Senior Director at Synergos
Outline of the day:
A gentle agroforestry experience (probably indoors depending on weather)
A roundtable conversation with our guest speakers
A shared, seasonal lunch to close
Together, we’ll continue to explore:
What would the world be if the care economy simply didn’t exist?
What might the world be if we took the care economy fully into account?
