Pause AI Montreal Movie Night: Species | Documenting AGI Triple Header
INTRODUCING PAUSEAI MONTREAL MOVIE NIGHT
Hi everyone,
This is the first instance of PauseAI Montreal Movie Night, which I intend to be a recurring event every other Thursday (unless I'm not available for some reason).
The idea is to watch movies related to AI Safety to inform the community about recent developments, risks, and efforts to confront the dangers that this technology poses.
For now, the focus will be on short, educational/documentary videos, though I'm open to watching long-form movies and fiction in the future.
First screening: Species | Documenting AGI Triple Header
Doors: 7:30 pm
First movie: 8 pm

Species | Documenting AGI is a YouTube channel dedicated to educating the public about AI risks with clarity, persuasiveness, and great production value.
To inaugurate PauseAI Montreal Movie Night, we'll be watching three of their most recent movies (total runtime: ~1h):
The plan is to follow each movie with about 15-20 min of discussion, with free flowing (but related) conversation at the end.
Some refreshments will be served, but feel free to bring your own.
