Panelists
Ben King Ben is a consultant who leads Santis Health's digital health practice, helping clients understand and leverage information technology to re-shape Canada’s health care system. Ben is a well-known expert in his field, with 20 years of experience in the sector. He has worked extensively in both the public and private sectors and has a deep understanding of the ways in which public policy can both drive and hinder innovation. He provides clients with an encyclopedic knowledge of the past and present of digital health in Canada, along with actionable insights regarding the likely evolution of the sector moving forward. In addition to his role at Santis, Ben also teaches digital health policy at the University of Toronto where he enjoys educating the next generation of policy leaders in the field.
Ahmadreza Attarpour, PhD, an AI Scientist at the University Health Network (PMCC AI) in Toronto, specializing in deploying machine learning systems in real clinical environments. He holds a PhD in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto and brings over 9 years of experience at the intersection of AI, neuroscience, and healthcare. His work focuses on building end-to-end pipelines for large-scale biomedical data, including foundation models and agentic AI systems, and he is committed to translating advanced machine learning methodologies into clinically and scientifically impactful solutions through interdisciplinary leadership.
Dr. Rahat Hossain, MD, FRCPC is a clinical associate psychiatrist at the Thompson Anxiety Disorders Centre and an interventional psychiatrist and OCD TMS Lead at the Harquail Centre for Neuromodulation, both at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He is one of the few psychiatrists in Canada with broad expertise in treating obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, delivering direct-to-brain treatments such as electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation, and consulting on psychiatric neurosurgery with Sunnybrook’s Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program. He is also a civilian contractor with the Department of National Defence and serves as the base psychiatrist at 32 Canadian Forces Health Services Centre. He recently completed his first term as a part-time Master of Engineering student at the University of Toronto’s Institute of Biomedical Engineering, with a focus on neuromodulation and whole brain modelling for psychiatric disorders.
Anne Forsyth, Anne is a digital health and data strategy leader with close to two decades of experience advancing large-scale data infrastructure, clinical digital transformation, and interoperable health systems across Canada. She has a proven ability to build strong teams that bridge clinical operations, data governance, and emerging technologies to deliver practical, scalable innovation with the goal of improving care delivery and system performance. Her current role is with the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), where she is the Director of Hospital Data Transformation. She serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Digital Health Canada, as well as the co-chair of Ontario’s chapter of Networked Health. She is an adjunct professor in the Master in Health Informatics program at the University of Toronto, where she teaches Leadership in Digital Health Transformation. Anne holds a Master of Health Administration from the University of Toronto, as well as CPHIMS-CA and CIPP/CA designations. She is a recognized Top 40 under 40 winner and frequently speaks at digital health conferences across the globe.
