Site Tour: PDX Airport with Sustainable NW
The PDX airport is one of Portland's claims to fame when it comes to sustainable architecture. It's the first major U.S. airport built with a mass timber roof, and it was designed with the ethos of benefitting the planet and local communities.
Join us on this airport tour, where we will hear from Sustainable Northwest and other key stakeholders about their design decisions, sustainable supply chain, and how this key port fits into Portland's broader climate initiatives. The tour will be followed by a casual happy hour at Loyal Legion in the airport, where we will have a chance to continue the discussion with our fellow climate enthusiasts.

APPROVED: No need to do anything, just show up. We’ll meet at the amphitheater benches just below Loyal Legion. To get there, enter the main terminal, walk straight ahead past the ticketing area, and then look for the rows of wooden amphitheater benches. Raina and Dylan, our tour guides from Sustainable NW, will be in Sustainable NW t-shirts and hats to be more easily identifiable. We recommend taking public transit or carpooling to/from the airport for this event. The MAX Red Line has a station right next to the main terminal. We cannot cover or validate parking fees.
If you’re on the approved list but your plans have changed, please update your RSVP as soon as possible. We have a big waitlist for this event and want to ensure as many people have a chance to participate as we and Sustainable NW can accommodate.
WAITLIST: We currently have a waitlist of 60 people, so it's unlikely we'll be able to have you join for this one. But FEAR NOT - we're already working with Sustainable Northwest on a follow-up tour, and those waitlisted will get first dibs. More info to come.
