Title: Building a self-improving software factory
Abstract: Interactive agents aren’t scaling. Every company is coping with runaway costs, lack of governance, and difficulty automating. This has led to the need for software factories: a closed-loop system for automating development, with primitives that provably improve throughput and efficiency over time.
Right now, folks are trying to roll their own internal software factories from bare metal, solving the same problems 100 different ways. We need shared, flexible infrastructure that everyone can build upon.
In this talk, we’ll share the core building blocks every company needs to build their own self-improving software factories based on our own experience building Warp Factories:
1. Cloud infrastructure to centralize agent conversations, skills, and security permissions
2. Configuration as code for humans and agents to manage that cloud infrastructure
3. Metrics for humans and agents to track efficiency and code quality, beyond “number of PRs shipped”
4. Self-improvement loops for agents to review past conversations, score the quality, and propose improvements to the skills driving the factory
