The Chronicle of A.M. Bach

​日本出身のアーティスト、ケン・オキイシによる映像作品。フランスのチェンバロ奏者・オルガン奏者ジャン＝リュック・オーがJ.S.バッハ役を引き受けることを拒む姿を起点に、日常、ダンス、建築、演奏をつなぐ。会話は少なく、音楽と身体、空間を通じて、歴史が現在に生きるあり方を静かに見つめる。

​Ken Okiishi’s film follows French harpsichordist and organist Jean-Luc Ho, who repeatedly refuses to simply assume the role of J.S. Bach. Moving between intimate everyday scenes, dance, architecture and Ho’s performances, the film connects a rehearsal and domestic life with a dancer responding to a recording at SANAA’s Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne. With little dialogue and long passages of organ and harpsichord, it offers a slow, atmospheric meditation on memory, listening and how history is lived in the present.
