Seeing the Unseen: How Deep Learning Unlocks Hidden Medical Image Data
Details
Hello Boulder WiMLDS! We are finally able to reschedule our talk from the crazy wind cancelation in December.
Join us for networking and a presentation from Adele Peskin, computer scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Adele has been using machine learning techniques to extract medical data from images where other numerical techniques do not work. At NIST, convolutional neural networks are used to process many different types of medical data. Adele will show the results of improving very low field noisy MRI images for medical diagnosis and extracting complex 4-D image features in early tumor detection.
The venue location
Uplight, a local software company located in the Boulder Commons, will be hosting the event. Someone will meet you at the lobby door of 2490 Junction Pl (next to Logan's Espresso Cafe) and show you up to the office space. Please arrive no later than 5:45pm. There is pay parking on the street in front of the building and some free parking in the neighborhood.
5:30 Meet and greet
5:45 Presentation
Networking to follow. Light snacks will be provided.
New Event Platform
Please RSVP even if you can't make it if you would like to continue receiving event notifications as we will be moving off of Meetup after this event.
Looking forward to seeing you and growing our community of women interested in data science!
Your co-hosts,
Meghan Sloan and Jo Martinez
