As we step into May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re also continuing our work as part of the Poderistas Partner Network. In partnership with Dalia and as part of the Poderistas Partner Network, we’re creating space for conversations that touch on identity, well-being, and the realities women are navigating every day.
Part of that means talking about the things we don’t always say out loud, including what it actually looks like to navigate motherhood and career at the same time. We’re opening with a conversation that’s close to home: a Mother’s Day event bringing both of our communities together across the world.
We’re sitting down with Jaidie Vargas, our Co-Founder, and Ivana Moreno-Valle Diez-Barroso, CEO of Dalia, moderated by our very own Corina Hierro, Director of Marketing at Amigas In Tech.
Jaidie became a mom three years ago, and Ivana just stepped into this chapter this year, felicidades to her. We’re getting into what that actually looks like alongside everything else they’re holding. The expectations, how your priorities shift, how your relationship with work changes, what support actually looks like and what it doesn’t, and how you’re navigating all of that while still building, leading, and showing up in your career.
We’ll also talk about the in-between moments, the things you don’t always plan for, the adjustments you’re making in real time, and how you figure out what works for you without a clear playbook. This conversation will touch on motherhood, womanhood, and career more broadly, and how all of those things intersect.
We’ll leave some time at the end to open it up for questions from the audience. So whether you are already a mom, thinking about it, or have decided that path isn’t for you, no matter what, we’d love to have you a part of the conversation because we are mujeres and we are poderosas.

Meet Our Speakers:
Jaidie Vargas – Jaidie Vargas is a first-generation Mexican-American from Long Beach, California, who has led technology strategy across aerospace and state government. She became a mom and a manager at the same time, navigating corporate expectations with a newborn and no playbook, and she figured it out in real time, with a lot of grace she had to learn to give herself. That season of holding everything at once never really ended; it just grew into something bigger. Today, she is a Co-Founder of Amigas in Tech, and a doctoral candidate in AI researching what it actually means to build technology that serves people. She is proof that you do not have to choose between who you are at home and who you are becoming in the world.
