Mumbai | Claude Impact Lab Mumbai: Civic Budget & Accountability
Every year, crores of rupees are allocated to fix Mumbai's roads, drains, hospitals and schools. Most citizens never find out where that money actually went, or whether the work promised ever got done. This Impact Lab is about changing that.
It follows Claude Conversation Mumbai, where 30 people from medicine, law, science, engineering and business debated AI's role in society. Out of everything the room surfaced, civic budget and accountability was the problem everyone kept coming back to.
The challenge
Build working solutions that help citizens:
See where public money is being spent
Track whether civic promises are actually delivered
Hold the right systems and people accountable
Built for the real world
This isn’t a weekend demo. The strongest solutions from the day will be taken directly to civic authorities, with the aim of getting them adopted. Our last Impact Lab partnered with the Nashik government on Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027, and one of the solutions built there was taken forward after the event. We want to push for the same here.
Who should come
Developers, designers, policy folks, lawyers, researchers, journalists, data people, and anyone who's ever looked at a broken road and wondered where the budget went. You don't need to code. You need to care about the problem.
