The Claude Community Seattle AI Safety & Alignment Meetup is a free, community-organized gathering for developers, researchers, students, and curious professionals who use AI tools and want to engage seriously with the question of how to make AI systems safe, honest, and beneficial.
This two-hour event includes networking and facilitated small-group discussions, with topics drawn from current AI safety research — interpretability, evaluations, red-teaming, and alignment techniques.
Our goals are to:
Create a recurring, welcoming space in Seattle where people can discuss AI safety substantively — bridging the gap between casual AI users and the research community.
Build practical skills: attendees leave knowing how to think critically about model behavior, test AI systems responsibly, and apply safety-minded practices in their own work.
Connect Seattle's growing AI community — including engineers, academics, and policy-minded folks — who currently lack a regular venue for this conversation.
Talk Claude, new alignment/safety research, and your own safety work in person, over food and drinks.
