Futures x Co-ops: UK/NL drinks & dialogue
Drinks at Space4 to bring together the futures and co-ops community in London and from the Netherlands. Over drinks we will explore:
What can we imagine for the future of co-operative working?
What are the hurdles to overcome today to enable new co-operative working practices?
What are some emerging innovations (existing or imagined) that could drive change in cooperative working?
The evening will include creative provocations and we will join together the end to reflect on what we can activate together.
We are excited to be joined by Dutch creative Co-op Komovo and studio Futurall as part of a learning exchange from the Netherlands (29-31 of January.) We hope to activate learning around the different challenges and possibilities in these two countries.
Why Attend: Futures practitioners have skills and tools to help people envision systemic alternatives and question societal assumptions. Meanwhile co-operative organisers have the experience and skills in already seeding alternative futures of work today. We hope that bringing these communities together will spark new relationships, collaborations and knowledge exchanges that can nurture futures of more co-operative working.

Hosts
Finn from Futurall. Futurall is a London and Rotterdam based creative studio. They combine creative storytelling with values-based, collective reimagining for systems change. They partner with government ministries, local authorities, museums, think tanks, and other not-for-profit organisations on projects that connect designed experiences to policy influencing and systems change.
Jesse from Komovo. Komovo is a Dutch Creative Coop working on a caring future. They initiate and support a portfolio of systemic initiatives ranging from caring green commons, “Maak Rimpels” (Make Ripples / Wrinkles) a network of caring communities and “Demodialoog” (demo dialogue) a platform to nurture a democratic culture.
Natasha from SPACE4. SPACE4 is part of Outlandish, a tech worker-cooperative committed to creating social and economic change. Through SPACE4, we activate our local community, small business, and social movements through affordable space, training, and networking events.
