Climate After Hours
A monthly evening for LA's climate community.
Los Angeles County is full of people already doing climate work, from environmental justice organizers who have led it in their own neighborhoods for decades to people just finding their way in. Climate After Hours gives all of them a standing room: one evening a month with the people doing adjacent work across the county, the ones you'd otherwise meet by accident, or never.
Climate work here runs on people who show up for their own neighborhoods. The people who know what our climate future needs are the ones living it every day, in the air on their block, the shade on their street, and the cost of keeping a home cool. From the board room to the block party, our neighbors' experience sets the agenda. That is how we design a climate future where every Angeleno thrives.
The room has two sides. One is a happy hour, with music, drinks, and time to catch up. The other is an informal salon, a facilitated conversation that starts once the room fills in. Drift between the two, stay in one, or come and go as the evening moves. Each month's conversation is shaped by the host organizations and the neighborhood we're in.
Each month the evening moves to a different part of the county. A county of 88 cities comes together one neighborhood at a time, and once the work is visible, people find each other. Climate After Hours is how we stop leaving that to chance.
There is no cost to attend. Registering helps us make sure we have space for everyone. If your plans change, cancel your registration so someone on the wait list who wants to attend can take your place.
Climate After Hours is hosted by Collidescope Foundation, Better Future Club, and Earth Era Institute in support of LA Climate Week, a countywide week of climate events organized by the people who live here. This month's venue sponsor is Skyportal X.

GETTING THERE
Transit: Historic Broadway Station (A and E Lines) is directly outside the venue at 2nd and Broadway. Civic Center/Grand Park Station (B and D Lines) is a three-block walk north. Trip planning at metro.net.
Bike: Bike parking is across the street at the Metro station.
Walking and carpooling are always encouraged. Offer or find a seat on Crewz: https://crewz.co/
Parking: Paid garages and lots are within two blocks, including along Broadway, Spring Street, and 1st Street. Metered street parking is available nearby and is free after 8 p.m.
Drop-off: Rideshare and Access Services drop-off is easiest on Broadway, directly in front of the gallery.

ACCESSIBILITY
We plan Climate After Hours so everyone can take part. Here's what to expect at this month's venue.
Getting in: The gallery is on the ground floor, with step-free entry from the sidewalk.
Seating: Seating is available on both sides of the room, with open space for wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are on the second floor, with elevator access.
Sound: Music stays on the happy hour side, and the salon side is quieter.
Hearing: Salon facilitators use a microphone.
Interpretation: ASL interpretation, live captioning, and language interpretation can be arranged on request.
Service animals are welcome. Personal care attendants are welcome too; please register them so we hold their spot.
