Climate Week NYC | Climatiq x UNEP/Radiant/MIT: The Global LCA Atlas
📣 Join Climatiq, UNEP, MIT, and Radiant Earth for a Climate Week NYC breakfast on the future of life-cycle assessment (LCA) data, introducing the Global LCA Atlas, a new public-interest initiative for verified, policy-grade supply-chain emissions data at scale.
Decarbonization decisions, from national climate policy to corporate supply chains, increasingly require life-cycle emissions data that today's data ecosystem wasn't built to deliver. The Global LCA Atlas is a collaborative initiative among the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), MIT, Radiant Earth, and other partners, to build the data infrastructure that will support substantive decisions and actions.
Jeremy Gregory, Executive Director of the MIT Climate and Sustainability Consortium (MCSC), will provide a brief overview of where that effort stands: the principles guiding it, the funding and governance models under consideration, and how organizations like yours can engage and contribute as it's built. He will then facilitate an open discussion for questions and feedback.
Climatiq is proud to support this session because accessible, high-quality background data that the world needs makes every tool built on top of it (including ours) better.
What to expect
Breakfast and coffee to start the morning, with time to network with others working on LCA, carbon accounting, and Scope 3 data
An introduction to the Global LCA Atlas: what it is and why now
A look at the funding and governance models under consideration
Direct Q&A and feedback
Who should join
Sustainability and carbon-accounting professionals, LCA practitioners, data providers, procurement and supply-chain teams, policy and standards folks, and anyone with a stake in where trustworthy emissions data comes from. No prior familiarity with the project required.
The event is free, but space is limited — registration is subject to host approval.
What to bring
Just yourself and your questions. This is a discussion, not a hands-on technical session — bring your perspective on what's missing from today's LCA data landscape and what you'd want an open alternative to get right.
Presented by UNEP / MIT / Radiant Earth, supported by Climatiq.
