Leap Day: Navigating the jump from primary to secondary
One intentional, reflective day for P6 students stepping into secondary school
Brought to you by Saturday Kids × Kindling Commons
What's this about
Your kid just finished PSLE. The exams are done. The pencils are down. What now?
Transitioning from Primary to Secondary school. It's a big leap, a rite of passage full of opportunity, growth, and new experiences. What does the new freedom and independence mean? What does it mean to build new circles of friends again?
Taking time for mindful reflection provides grounding and a chance for intentional navigation through this period of liminality.
Leap Day offers a guided canvas for students to reflect on past experiences, set intentions, and approach the transition with focus and curiosity.
It's a good fit if...
This day is designed to help your child meaningfully re-orient as they move into Secondary school. It's a good fit if they're looking to:
Pause, reset, and recharge after PSLE
Reflect on their Primary school journey and imagine Secondary school ahead
Explore nature, creativity, and play in an immersive, mindful environment
Develop tools for navigation, shifting identities, and intentional approaches to new challenges
What this is not
This is not a traditional sit-down indoor classroom experience. It is not unsupervised play. This is a curated, intentional day that blends fun with purpose. Each activity helps students engage in thoughtful re-orientation, shift their mindset, and approach the next stage with confidence and a sense of grounding.

Since 2023, we have been running summer camps in Japan to help kids and teenagers build confidence, resilience and life skills.
