About Event

Circles are a soft landing from the chaos of the realities, uncertainties, and terribleness of 2026. A peer-circle for letting it out, listening, resonating, and belonging.

You belong here if you —

  • you're an empathetic or highly sensitive person (HSP)

  • you're having trouble adjusting to the authoritarian regime

  • you are angry about the climate crisis and social injustices

  • you are an environmental studies professional or student

  • your often think 'why bother?'

  • your daily life is busy, that you don't have time to think about the climate / poly crisis

  • you hate meditating

Just kidding on that last one. Belonging Circles for Resilience are a warm feeling of comfort, usually cathartic, people are honest, and yet, we find gratitude and joy.

This is NOT group therapy. Facilitators are NOT clinicians. This is not totally woo-woo, but there is a small element of that.

The Climate Cafe model

At a Cascadia Climate Cafe, we will take turns talking about the whole mess that we're in, not just the climate crisis. Whatever level of understanding that you have, chances are, that you will feel a connection with what others are expressing too. This is a casual space to attune to others, and to find hope in the concept of bioregional, pro-future thinking.

Mindfulness begins with pausing to notice.....
