The Future is Low-Tech: An intimate evening of ideas, conversation, and community

Monday, August 3
6:30–8:30 PM
📍 Lodgewell – Graeber House

A 20-minute presentation.
An open conversation.
A house full of curious people.

This is an intimate evening built around one big idea.

We'll begin with a presentation from Jesabel DC, whose talk "The Future is Low-Tech: Lessons From the Early 2000's" explores what today's technology can learn from the internet before feeds, notifications, and algorithms took over.

Then we'll keep the conversation going...

Instead of audience Q&A, we'll break into small living room discussions throughout the house to explore questions around technology, attention, design, community, and what it means to build a more human future.

Think less conference. More house party for people who love ideas.

Featured Presentation

Fresh from Figma Config, Jesabel's presentation asks a simple question: "What if the future of technology isn't about adding more but designing technology that knows its place?"

Together we'll explore ideas around:

• the internet before algorithms

• human-friendly technology

• attention and digital overwhelm

• what we should bring forward into the future

Who's This For?

This gathering is intentionally small.

Most guests are being invited personally by the hosts, but we're opening up a handful of additional spots to meet a few more thoughtful people in Austin.

If you're someone who enjoys big ideas, thoughtful conversations, and leaving with more questions than answers, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply if this sounds like your kind of evening!
