Code Diversity: Pass The Mic!
Join us for a welcoming and inclusive coffee meetup where women and gender-diverse folks in tech can connect, share experiences, and build community in a relaxed setting.
This event is part of Code Diversity: Pass the Mic, a new series where each month a different community member picks the topic and leads the session.
November Topic: Defining Your Professional Presence, hosted by Anna Lai.
How you show up at work shapes how people see you and the opportunities that come your way. This month we'll dig into:
Crafting your office style: Expressing your personal brand through workwear while feeling comfortable and confident (Let’s talk workplace fashion!)
Asking smart questions: Finding the courage to speak up, clarify expectations, and project competence even when you don't have all the answers
Connecting & staying connected: Cultivating internal visibility and turning one-off workplace interactions into lasting relationships
Hard vs. soft skill balance: Identifying which core technical competencies and interpersonal skills to prioritize at your current career stage
Staying ahead of industry shifts & toolsets: Spotting high-demand skills, keeping up with rapid changes in your field, and using modern productivity tools to work smarter
Designing your career direction: Seeking out high-impact mentorship, advice, and alignment for your long-term goals
Establishing your personal brand: Defining how you want to be known across your team and organization
Whether you're an industry veteran or just getting started, everyone is welcome!
FREE ENTRY – However, please support the café by purchasing a drink or snack while attending.
