The Test Tribe 5th Coimbatore Meetup
Coimbatore is back.
Our last meetup here was a while ago, and restarting a city chapter takes a few people deciding it's worth doing again. That's what the 10th is. Fifth Coimbatore meetup, first one in a long time, and a chance to see who's actually in this city doing testing work now.
The session
Umasankar Ramasamy (Associate Director at Cognizant) on From Idea to Production: A 360° View of Quality.
Most quality problems that show up in testing were decided somewhere else. In a requirement that stayed vague, an integration nobody owned, an architectural call made before anyone asked what it would cost to verify. By the time a tester finds it, the cheap moment to fix it has passed.
This session walks the full lifecycle, from ideation and requirements through architecture, development, testing, deployment and what happens after release, and looks at where quality is genuinely being decided at each stage. It's drawn from delivering large enterprise programs and digital transformation work, so the examples come from real delivery pressure rather than theory.
The line the session runs on: quality is not a phase in the delivery lifecycle. It is an outcome of decisions made from idea to production and beyond.
What you'll take away
Where quality is actually shaped across the lifecycle, and which stages have more influence on the outcome than most teams assume
How to spot quality risks early by reading business objectives, requirements, integrations and dependencies, before they become production issues
A practical view of quality as shared work across Product, Business, Architecture, Development, QA and Operations, with a sense of where a tester's influence is real and where it isn't
Techniques for building delivery confidence around end-to-end business outcomes rather than isolated testing activity
About the speaker
Umasankar Ramasamy is Associate Director, Projects at Cognizant. He has led large-scale technology programs and enterprise product delivery across multiple business domains, taking complex programs from strategy through implementation and into production. He works closely with both business and technology stakeholders, which is a useful vantage point for this topic: he's been in the rooms where the decisions that later become testing problems get made.
How the day runs
10:30 AM: Doors open, coffee and introductions
11:00 AM: Session begins
12:00 PM: Q&A and open discussion
12:30 PM: Networking over snacks
We keep a real Q&A block rather than tacking five minutes onto the end. On a topic like this one, where most people in the room have their own version of a requirement that went wrong, the discussion is usually the part people remember.
Who this is for
Software testers, QA engineers, SDETs, test leads, developers who own quality, and engineering or delivery managers based in and around Coimbatore. Come whether you've been to a Test Tribe meetup before or this is your first.
Where: Covai Tech Park
Saturday, 10th October 2026, 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM IST
