From Waste to Living Soil | A Composting Workshop with Maslow
This is a collaboration between Be the Earth and Maslow.
Step into the quiet intelligence beneath your feet.
In celebration of World Compost Day, join us at the Be Hive for a hands-on journey into the living world of soil, where waste becomes abundance, and life begins again.
Guided by Maslow, a regenerative design collective working at the intersection of land, systems, and human needs, you’ll explore how simple composting practices can transform everyday waste into rich, biologically active soil.
This aims to be a lived experience.
Through touch, movement, and participation, you’ll:
Build and turn real compost
Meet the organisms that bring soil to life
Walk through living proof in the landscape
Reconnect with the cycles that sustain us
The day weaves together indoor grounding, outdoor practice in the Food Forest, and a visit to Boschendal’s compost system.
Enjoy nourishing teas, a seasonal forest-to-fork lunch, and a small gift from the land to take home!
No experience needed.
Just a willingness to step in, get your hands dirty, and grow together.
