About Event

Whether you've just bought your first smart plug or you're the kind of person who runs racks of servers in the cupboard under the stairs, there's a seat for you at Open Home Community Day.

Home Assistant is a privacy-first, local-first, non-cloud dependent, open source, smart home & automation platform run by the Open Home Foundation. The foundation has been set up to ensure that can never change, by people who really care about sharing, privacy and community.

Join us in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in North Wales for a relaxed, friendly day for anyone who loves making their home smarter, without depending on big tech's cloud services and prying eyes. Share what's worked (and what hasn't), see real setups in action, get unstuck on that automation that almost works, and meet people who enjoy this stuff as much as you do.

Everyone's welcome, whatever your age or experience. Want to show off your setup, swap ideas and chat all day? Brilliant. Prefer to wander round, watch and listen? That's just as welcome. No question is too basic, and nobody gets judged for being new.

Got gadgets gathering dust? Bring any smart home kit you no longer use to our swap shop. Sensors, plugs, hubs, bulbs, spare cables, whatever's in the drawer. Leave something, take something, and give it a new home. Bringing nothing is fine too. (Swap shop kit is taken at your own risk.)

Coming from Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, the Wirral or further afield? Make a day of it. Come for the community, stay for the countryside.

Please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Free parking available on site.
