supermoon is the triannual format for temporary work.
Each supermoon invites a roster of artists to present new installation work from their respective practices over the course of 3 exhibitions. Formatted in the style of ‘cycles’, the first supermoon begins in August 2026, with the artists presenting an initial installation piece. This work serves as the starting point to an exploration that would evolve, iterate and change, until its presentation at the second supermoon in December 2026. The process repeats, allowing artists to build upon their work until it reaches its resolution in the last supermoon of the cycle in April 2027.
A separate closed-door dialogue session is facilitated between 2 independent curators and the artists during the period of the exhibition. The dialogue session would centre around the artist’s respective practices and the work presented, informing the spaces to explore for the next supermoon in the cycle.
Each supermoon introduces a new artist who has never exhibited installation work before, expanding the roster at every exhibition.
Each supermoon will take place at a different location during its cycle.
The first ever supermoon will show on 14 August 2026 at 7:30pm at Goodman Arts Centre, Block F.
supermoon is independently run by Irsyad Ishak and intends to serve as a platform to connect seasoned and new artists, bridge the distance between artists and curators, and create spaces that lets people in the arts turn their portfolio into a practice.
