About Mohamed Swaraldahab
Currently, he serves as the Manager of Field Application Specialists, North America at QIAGEN, where he leads a high-performing team of technical experts helping laboratories implement cutting-edge molecular biology and digital PCR solutions. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience in molecular genetics and clinical diagnostics, he continuously bridged the gap between the bench, the clinic, and the biotech industry.
Before moving into leadership at QIAGEN, he spent six years as a Senior Field Application Specialist for digital PCR and extraction technology, supporting the adoption of life science technologies across academic, clinical, and industrial labs through deep technical consultation, training, and workflow optimization. His industry role is built on a strong clinical foundation: he previously worked in Molecular Genetics at Quest Diagnostics and as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Inova Health System, performing and validating high-complexity testing across multiple disciplines under CLIA and other regulatory frameworks.
Mohamed has also been deeply involved in academia, serving as an Adjunct Professor of Forensic Science at George Mason University, CSI expert witness in northern Virginia and as a Clinical Research and Laboratory Design Consultant at Weill Cornell Medicine, where he helped design and optimize research lab spaces.
He is passionate about mentoring and career development, demystifying non-traditional paths in science like field applications specialist and customer-facing technical roles, and he loves helping the next generation of scientists find their place in biotech.
