Virtual Convening: Creatives for Secure AI
Generative AI has been trained on the work of millions of creative professionals, often without their consent or compensation. These systems can now clone voices and likenesses and imitate creative styles that artists have spent entire careers developing.
The people whose work helped make this technology possible deserve a seat at the table as decisions are made about how AI is developed, governed, and used.
Creatives for Secure AI is a new coalition bringing together creative professionals and independent creators across industries—including actors, authors, voice actors, filmmakers, graphic designers, animators, musicians, below-the-line crew, and more.
For our first virtual convening, we’ll focus on copyright protections and digital cloning: what it means for creative professionals when AI can replicate a person’s voice, image, or likeness without meaningful consent, and what protections are needed as the technology becomes more powerful and accessible.
We’ll also discuss current efforts to establish safeguards, including the NO FAKES Act, as well as the broader goals of Creatives for Secure AI and ways to get involved.
