Microsolidarity Crews
Wanting connection but feeling a bit lost in the sea of people here at the Commons (or elsewhere)?
Come learn about crews! The word comes from something called Microsolidarity (https://www.microsolidarity.cc/essays/background-and-introduction), but I've used them to great effect in terms of building connection and belonging for myself and other people.
About me: I'm new to the Commons, but I've been bringing together groups of people since middle school. In recent years, it's often been in contexts like coliving, retreats, trips. I've wrestled with the question of how to promote greater connection amongst people, and found crewing to be a really helpful strategy. Simultaneously, I've been on the road for the last 4 years, and had to wrestle with loneliness a lot. Crewing has been an incredible antidote to that.
Rough agenda:
Intros/check in
Intention sharing/why's
Connection exercises, stuff you do as a crew
Exploring starting a crew
Look forward to seeing you there!!
