​Discover the deeply rooted heritage of the Armenian diaspora in East Hollywood. We will begin our journey at the Armenian Genocide Memorial Square and visit the historic St. Garabed Armenian Apostolic Church, exploring ancient Christian architecture, sacred art, and traditional Khachkars (cross-stones). Our route weaves through resilient minority-owned small businesses, from legacy bookstores preserving Armenian calligraphy to family-run spice markets. For lunch, we will gather for an authentic feast of traditional Khorovats (Armenian BBQ), fresh lavash, and homemade baklava. Our final chapter takes us to a local community space, where we will listen to the living language and engage in a meaningful dialogue with local artisans about keeping cultural identity alive in the heart of Los Angeles.

​⏳ Schedule & Expedition Details

• ​When: Every Wednesday. Choose between the Morning Session or Evening Session (Exact times provided upon registration as sessions launch once the group fills up).

• ​Duration: 4 Hours.

• ​Group Size: Strictly limited to 8–10 participants max to ensure an intimate, conversational atmosphere and easy navigation.

​EXPEDITION TYPE, FEES & COST BREAKDOWN

​1. Expedition Type: Peer-to-Peer Cultural Research

​This event is organized as a non-commercial, collaborative cultural field-study. The coordinators and Cultural Ambassadors are volunteers guiding a peer-to-peer group. This is not a commercially hosted tour.

​2. Ticket Cost: Free / Pay-What-You-Wish Donation

• ​Any optional donations made through Luma go strictly toward supporting our non-profit digital cultural archive, multimedia equipment, and producing future educational materials. The ticket does not cover, include, or guarantee any food, transit, or commercial services.

​3. Individual Out-of-Pocket Expenses (Paid Directly to Businesses)

​To directly support the minority-owned small businesses of the district and maintain total transparency, there is no central pool of money. Every participant is fully responsible for their own individual expenses during the expedition. Please be prepared for the following direct costs:

• ​Culinary Chapter (Communal Lunch): Estimated $10 – $30 per person. We will dine together at an authentic family-run restaurant. You will order your own meal (or join the group's curated family-style menu) and pay the restaurant directly at the end of the lunch.

• ​Local Markets & Artisans: (Optional) If you choose to buy traditional spices, crafts, or pastries from local vendors to support the neighborhood economy, you will handle your transactions directly with the merchant.

• ​Transportation & Parking: Estimated $5 – $15 depending on whether you use public transit (Metro) or local parking structures. Participants are responsible for arriving at the designated meeting point independently.
