About Event

Looking to enhance your waste-diversion practices for your business, organization, neighborhood, or just your own home? Bubbly Dynamics, the owner/operator and design team behind The Plant, will be on hand to provide guidance and best practices to make it easy to find the highest and best use for unwanted materials that still have value.

We will be accepting used batteries, unexpired food and pantry items for our Love Fridge, packing materials, styrofoam (EXCLUDING food packaging), and clothing--see the attachment for a detailed list.

While you're here, take a self-guided tour of The Plant, a former meatpacking facility that Bubbly Dynamics renovated into a collaborative community of small food production businesses, with a focus on resource and energy efficiencies. The Packingtown Museum, detailing the industrial history and cultural heritage of Chicago’s Union Stock Yard and surrounding neighborhoods, will be open as well.

Today, we're hosting volunteers to do indoor plant maintenance on our Winter Garden and Wetlands area! If you're interested in helping out, come in clothes that can get grubby! No green thumb required. Snacks and drinks will be provided, reach out to info@bubblydynamics.com with any questions.

And save the date for Sun. Oct. 4 for the next Reuse-a-Palooza, our semiannual event that provides opportunities to repair clothing and household items, safely dispose tricky-to-recycle items, and donate bicycles, gently used books, and more!
