About Event

Ukraine is running the largest live experiment in defense technology since 1945. Systems that pass controlled tests fail at the front within weeks; procurement cycles built for decades now turn in months. The data coming off the battlefield — on what gets bought, what gets used, and what survives — is reshaping how allied governments and industry evaluate, acquire, and sustain emerging capability. This roundtable brings that evidence to Yale: Palisade Bergschrund's principals frame the discussion, and two Yale Jackson students who spent the summer conducting field research in Kyiv with the firm present their findings. Candid and off the record.

Speakers

Major General Borys Kremenetskyi (Ret.), Armed Forces of Ukraine — Senior Partner, Palisade Bergschrund. Former Ukrainian Defence Attaché to the United States and the United Kingdom; former NATO International Military Staff.

Derek Berlin — Founder and CEO, Palisade Bergschrund; moderator. Former U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense; Council on Foreign Relations; U.S. Sherpa to the G7 Ukraine Donor Platform Business Advisory Council.

Anthony Costanzo (MPP '27) — An evidence-based framework for assessing the resilience of Taiwan's unmanned defense-industrial complex, drawing on lessons from Ukraine. U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Jonas Nepozitek (MPP '27) — How Ukraine's battlefield procurement and consumption data can inform Europe's defense-industrial mobilization.
