Storytelling Night—"COURAGE"
Announcing our November theme: COURAGE.
Maybe the loud kind. Maybe the heroic kind. Or maybe the quiet, shaky, deeply human kind.
Give us stories of fear faced, risks taken, truths spoken, and moments when you acted despite being terrified. Courage that looked impressive—and courage no one noticed.
As always, interpret the theme freely.
Maybe it’s about staying when leaving would’ve been easier. Or saying no when the only accepted answer was yes. Or the smallest brave act that changed everything.
Please come just to listen or get on stage, be vulnerable, and share with us, a diverse group of welcoming and open people who are curious about each others' lives.
Stories will last from 7 to 10 minutes. Expect ten stories plus an intermission.
Interested in sharing a story? We give spots on a first come, first serve basis. We want all voices! Please fill out our sign-up form here: Open Google Form
We hold our event at Fábrica Braço de Prata, an enormous multi-roomed centro cultural in Marvila that hosts everything from salsa bands to intimate piano concerts to philosophical comedy.
To accommodate everyone, we will be in the outdoor tent right inside the gate to Fábrica Braço de Prata. Love is a popular edition, arrive early to get good seats.
Storytelling Lisboa is a completely free event run by volunteers. We welcome everyone to get on stage!
Absolutely no experience is necessary. We only ask that stories be true and personal and that they are performed as opposed to read—and they should be stories instead of philosophical musings, motivational speeches, or stand-up routines. The content is completely at the discretion of the storyteller as long as it is related in the monthly theme and respectful to the diversity and experiences of all humans.
We now have an email list and WhatsApp group to subscribe to to keep up with events. You can sign up for either of these via our linktree: https://linktr.ee/storytellinglisboa
For any questions, you can reach out to us by DM on our instagram @storytellinglisboa! Or email storytellinglisboa at gmail dot com.
Bring some cash to throw into our donation jar! We will always be free and want everyone to be able to attend, but your funds help sustain the increasing effort and volunteers needed to put on the event.
