Cursor Cairo Buildathon with Paymob
Join us for the Cursor Cairo Buildathon, co-hosted by Cursor and Paymob, on 15 August 2026, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Founders Spaces in Downtown Cairo.
This is a hands-on build day for developers, designers, founders, product managers, students, and builders who want to turn a challenge into a working product using Cursor and Paymob’s payment tools.
Apply Individually
Applications are individual only. Please do not register as a pre-formed team.
Selected participants will be organized into balanced teams during the event based on their skills and experience.
You also do not need to submit or prepare an idea in advance. The organizers will provide the challenge areas, problem statements, and project ideas that teams will choose from and work on during the buildathon.
What to Expect
The day will include:
Check-in and networking
A short introduction to Cursor workflows and AI-assisted development
An overview of Paymob’s payment tools and integration process
Challenge announcement and team formation
A focused build sprint with support from Cursor community mentors and the Paymob team
Final project demos in front of the judging panel
Winner announcements and networking
What Every Participant Receives
Every selected participant will receive:
Cursor credits to use during the buildathon
Support with Cursor setup and development workflows
Technical and onboarding support from the Paymob team
A dedicated Paymob onboarding contact to help take their project live
Up to EGP 50,000 in fee-free Paymob transaction volume for their own project after the event
Food and refreshments throughout the day

Prizes are awarded to each member of the winning teams:
First Place
EGP 250,000 in fee-free Paymob transaction volume
$500 in Cursor credits
Second Place
EGP 150,000 in fee-free Paymob transaction volume
$250 in Cursor credits
Third Place
EGP 100,000 in fee-free Paymob transaction volume
$100 in Cursor credits

Please bring your laptop, charger, any adapters you may need, and a valid Cursor account.
Registration
Capacity is limited, and registration is application-based.
Submitting the form does not guarantee attendance. Applications will be reviewed individually, and selected participants will receive a confirmation email before the event.
Do not register multiple people in one application and do not apply as a team. Each participant must submit their own application.
Paymob benefits are subject to onboarding and eligibility requirements. Final credit distribution and benefit terms will be shared with confirmed participants.
