48-Hour Virtual Hackathon | 17–19 January 2026
📍 Event Format
Due to strong interest from participants across different locations, and to encourage wider participation, the hackathon will be fully virtual.
🚨 The Problem
Only 8% of people receive financial advice.
The remaining 92% don’t — not because advice lacks value, but because delivering it is expensive, slow, and doesn’t scale.
🎯 The Mission
We’re using AI to break the economics of financial advice.
Build:
Tools that let advisors serve 10× more clients, or
AI that delivers advice directly to people who may never meet a human advisor
Same mission, different paths — expand access from 8% to 50%.
⚡ The Challenge
You have 48 hours to build something that can fundamentally change the financial industry.
You decide the approach:
Make advisors superhuman, or
Build advice for the mass market at scale
This is not about demos — it’s about real impact.

👥 Who Should Join

Machine Learning Engineers
Full Stack Engineers
You will compete in teams of 3.
You may come as a team or form one during the event. Teams do not need to include all roles equally.
🤝 Teams & Networking
All participants must be in a team of 3
Some registered as teams, others as individuals — not all teammates may have been shortlisted
On the day, everyone will get a chance to meet others
We’ll run 2-minute speed networking sessions via Zoom breakout rooms:
1 minute for you
1 minute for the other person
Then you rotate
This helps teams form quickly and organically.

1st Prize: RM 12,000
2nd Prize: RM 5,000

💼 IMPORTANT: HACK-TO-HIRE CONDITION
This is a hack-to-hire event focused on identifying exceptional talent.
Please read carefully:
The prize money is the signing bonus.
If you are part of a winning team and are offered a role at AdvisoryAI, accepting the offer is required to receive the prize money.
Your allocated share of the prize money will be paid only after you formally accept the offer and join AdvisoryAI.
Declining the job offer will result in forfeiture of your portion of the prize money, even if your team wins.
If no job offer is extended to you, you will not receive any portion of the prize money, even if your team wins.
