About Event

Welcome to the launch of our brand new GDG London circuit focused on Go & Cloud! πŸš€

For our "First Stop: Shoreditch", we’re taking over The Drum Labs for an evening of Go engineering, linker mechanics, cloud architectures, and developer advocacy. Whether you're building high-throughput backends or exploring static binary compilation, join us for practical deep dives, community insights, and networking in the heart of Shoreditch.

β€‹πŸ“… Agenda:

18:00 - Doors Open & Networking

18:30 - Welcome & Intro

18:35 - First session, Daniela Petruzalek

19:20 - Second session, Ainsley Clark

20:00 - Networking

πŸ‘₯ Speakers & Talks:

β€‹πŸŽ™οΈ Ainsley Clark - Go Developer Advocate at JetBrains πŸ“Œ //go:embed: From Comment to Binary - Linker Internals, Tradeoffs and Production Patterns

Since its introduction in Go 1.16, the embed package has quietly reshaped static asset distribution, single-binary deployments and infrastructure tooling – and the community can’t get enough of it. This talk goes into what //go:embed is, but more importantly, how it works under the hood so you can make informed decisions when shipping embedded assets to production.

Ainsley specialises in Go, scalable backend systems and modern front-end designs. He's a regular voice in the community and leads workshops that take engineers from fundamentals to production-ready code. With a background in full-stack development, Ainsley is passionate about using Go beyond traditional backends, including for frontends and web applications. He also runs ainsley.dev, a web development and design company where he builds bespoke websites and APIs.

β€‹πŸŽ™οΈ Daniela Petruzalek - Senior Developer Relations Engineer at Google
TBC Abstract: Details coming soon.

Daniela is a Senior Developer Relations Engineer at Google based in London, specialising in Go, Cloud infrastructure, and AI engineering tools.
