The Global Creative Cohort (Sept 15–Dec 15)
The Global Creative Cohort
A twelve-week creative residency, September 15 to December 15, with multidisciplinary creatives spread across the world.
Your practice, daily. Your people, everywhere.
What's in store:
🌍 choose from two creative tracks and get placed in a small group of 5-7 you move through the whole season with
🎙️ multidisciplinary guest speakers from around the world, live, every other week
🗂️ mini workshops on building a personal archive, wordboarding, and more
☕️ opt into ongoing activities: co-working hours, morning pages, a reading/watching club, show-and-tells, and more
📖 and in December, a collaborative creative release we publish together on Metalabel
Everything lives on the Coqtail Hour DFOS, our new digital community home. Your invite arrives within 24 hours of registering.
Opt into what pulls you, and skip the rest. We hope for this to be as self-directed as possible and fit in your hours after five.
Guest Speaker Sneak Peek:
Kathy Pham — artist, designer, cultural critic and content creator, joining us from Denver, Colorado. Week of Oct 5-9.
Eunnuri Lee — interdisciplinary research artist, joining us from LA/SF. Week of Nov 2-6.

Quick intro if we haven't met yet!
We're Sama and Jacqueline, co-founders of Coqtail Hour, a budding creative community and experiential design studio. This cohort is us finding out whether the community we've built can hold space for people near and far.
A few things worth knowing
Creative Tracks
You'll pick from two tracks to guide your creative practice when you register: Something Old, or Something New. We place you with people doing the same.- Something New
Explore in any medium this question: What your corner of the world sees that the rest of us tend to miss?
- Something Old
Finally make the thing you've been carrying around for years and never had the time, space, or support to finish.Your Residency Group
Small groups of 5-7 are assigned Sept 15. You'll move through the three months with this group, with a private channel for each group in DFOS.Session Timings
Guest sessions are scheduled around each guest's time zone, so times vary. We aim to keep sessions in a window that works for as much of the cohort as possibleEverything's recorded and stored in DFOS, so a difficult hour never costs you the session!
Our Creative Publication
The December release is optional! We'll share the open call at the end of October. You keep full copyright of anything you submit, and submitting gives us permission to publish and promote it as part of the collection, always with credit to you.Limited Seats
We're keeping this first season under 50 so we can run & facilitate it well!
Refund + Cancellation Policy
Life happens, so here's how we handle it:
Before September 15
Full refund, no questions asked, just email us.
You're also welcome to pass your seat to a friend. Just let us know their name and email.
After the season starts
We're not able to offer refunds, since guest honoraria and small group placements are committed by then. But please email us anyway! We'd much rather give you a credit toward next season than have you quietly disappear. 🙏🏼
Drop-in guest session tickets are non-refundable. If you'd like to swap for a different guest session, email us any time before your session starts and we'll move you. And if you can't make it but someone else can, just send us their name!
Recording + Privacy
Guest sessions are recorded and shared with members. If you'd rather not appear, keep your camera off and use the chat!
Small groups, co-working and show-and-tells are never recorded.
Recordings are members-only, so please don't share or repost them outside the cohort. Our guests give us their time on that understanding.
What's shared in the space stays in the space. People post unfinished work here, so please don't screenshot or repost anything without asking them first.
Age Restriction
You must be 18+ to register and participate.
Community Guidelines
This only works on trust. We expect everyone to be generous, curious and kind. Critique when it's asked for, and always about the work. Full community guidelines and privacy policy here.
Newsletter
When you register, you'll be automatically added to our biweekly newsletter! Unsubscribe at any time <3
