Cyanotype Print and Patch Extravaganza!
Cyanotype Print and Patch Extravaganza!
Your camera roll deserves better than living on your phone... so let's put those memories to use!
For one afternoon only, we're taking over SINGERS Bar in Brooklyn for a special collaboration between Kiki & Bouba Craft Lab and our friends at Exposure Therapy Photo Lab. Before the doors open to the public, the entire bar becomes our private cyanotype playground! A space to make, experiment, grab a drink, and spend the afternoon turning your favorite photographs into cyanotype artwork and wearable patches.
What You'll Walk Away With
One custom cyanotype fabric sheet (8.5x11) or a collection of handmade cyanotype patches
The option to have Kiki and Bouba Craft Lab sew your patches onto your clothing on-site!
A foundational understanding of the cyanotype printing process and how to continue making prints at home
In this hands-on workshop, you'll transform your favorite photographs into beautiful prussian blue cyanotype prints on fabric using one of the oldest photographic printing processes.
Create a composition that's uniquely yours by layering your images with botanicals, film negatives, and meaningful keepsakes, then choose to display it as a textile artwork or turn it into wearable patches right on sight!
We'll guide you through designing and exposing your print. Then, we will be available to sew it onto your favorite clothing or accessories if you'd like at the end of the workshop.
Before class, you'll send us a single page 8.5" × 11" PDF filled with the images you'd like to use. These can be anything that's meaningful to you! We'll print your images onto transparency film so everything is prepared before you arrive. Feel free to bring film negatives with you if you'd like to use those too! We will have some fun photos and text printed on transparency paper available to everyone to use as well.
During the workshop, you'll receive one 8.5" × 11" sheet of pre-treated cyanotype fabric to design however you'd like. Layer your printed transparencies with botanicals we'll provide, arrange film negatives, or incorporate small sentimental objects you've brought from home to create a completely personal composition.
Every print develops differently, making each piece entirely unique. If you have questions along the way, our photo experts Drew and Caleb, owners of Exposure Therapy Photo Lab, will be there to help, along with us, of course!
Once your cyanotype has developed into the signature rich Prussian blue the process is known for, you'll decide what to do with it. Leave it as one large textile artwork, or cut it into smaller patches to create a collection of wearable memories.
And because we'll have SINGERS all to ourselves, you can grab a drink, hang out with friends, and relax while your prints develop and dry. Think of it as equal parts workshop, creative hangout, and afternoon photo lab.

About Kiki and Bouba Craft Lab: Kiki and Bouba is an experimental craft lab run out of our private studio in East Williamsburg. Artists ourselves, we spend our days tinkering so we can bring you exciting, new crafts you won't find anywhere else. Classes are kept intentionally very small so that you'll have your instructor's attention throughout. Questions are welcome at every step.
What to Expect at Our Workshops: This is not a paint-and-sip. We specialize in 2–4 hour workshops that teach you the fundamentals of skills that have taken us years to hone. Classes are skill-intensive and hands-on, with a small seat capacity so everyone gets the attention they need. Come ready to embrace the learning curve. The skills and satisfaction you walk away with are always worth it.
Refund Policy: Kiki & Bouba Craft Lab is a small, artist-run studio led by just the two of us, Adrianna and Zolzaya. Every ticket directly supports the materials, space, fees, and care that go into each workshop. Because of this, all ticket purchases are final and non-refundable, so we encourage you to book thoughtfully. If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to pass your spot along to a friend. Just email us at kikiandboubacraftlab@gmail.com so we can update the registration.
If you’d prefer to switch into another workshop of the same price, we’re happy to help with that as long as you reach out at least 72 hours before your scheduled class.
