About Event

The best learning often happens when people build and solve problems together. In the spirit of gotong royong, let's come together to learn, troubleshoot challenges and exchange ideas with facilitators and fellow community members.

*Programme might be subject to changes

What's the Format?

The afternoon will be split into two parts:

🛠️ 2 - 3PM: Workshop Track
Choose one workshop and explore a specific topic through a guided session with the facilitator.

🤝 3PM – 5PM: Community Clinic

Bring your projects, questions, roadblocks, or ideas. Facilitators and fellow community members will be around to offer feedback, troubleshoot challenges, share experiences, and help one another make progress.

🤔Choose Your Workshop

Option 1: Running Agentic AI on WhatsApp by Valenzia Yap (TechFin Global, with Goma AI)

Agentic AI is rapidly transforming customer engagement, but greater autonomy brings greater responsibility. Valenzia will demonstrate how the Model AI Governance Framework (MGF) for Agentic AI can be used to govern and deploy AI agents on WhatsApp safely and effectively.

Explore real-world risks from prompt injection and automation bias to multi-agent handoffs and PDPA compliance and learn practical approaches to risk assessment, human oversight, and operational safeguards. Walk away with actionable insights for deploying agentic AI responsibly in customer-facing environments.

Option 2: How Can I Harness AI as an SME? by Cordillia Tan (PetaniAI)

AI tools are becoming increasingly accessible, but knowing where to start and what delivers real value can be challenging for small businesses. Cordillia will share practical ways SMEs can use AI across day-to-day operations, from content creation and customer engagement to workflow automation and productivity improvements.

Explore common adoption patterns, useful tools, and implementation considerations through examples drawn from real business contexts.

Option 3: Importance of Verifiers in AI with the Lorong Builds Community

AI systems can sound confident even when they're wrong, so how do you know when to trust their outputs? This hands-on session explores the critical role of verifiers in AI, from simple syntax checks to human review. Through a live coding demo, an interactive game and a group design challenge, participants will build intuition for how verification works, why it matters, and how to apply it in their own domains.

Walk away with a practical framework for thinking about AI outputs and the conviction that trust in AI should be earned through verification, not assumed.

🤗Community Clinic

Stick around after the workshops for an open session with facilitators and fellow community members. Bring along your projects, ideas, questions, roadblocks, or half-finished experiments.

Whether you're experimenting with AI adoption for your SME, refining content and storytelling, thinking through customer engagement strategies, designing agentic workflows, or troubleshooting a technical implementation, this is a space to exchange ideas, get feedback and learn from one another.

More About the People

Val Yap is the Founder of Goma AI. As the former founder of PolicyPal, she brings firsthand experience building and scaling a technology business in the Singapore market. Over the past five years in Silicon Valley, she has built and run AI workshops with SMEs and startups, equipping non-technical operators with practical, deployable skills.

Cordillia Tan is the co-founder of PetaniAI, where she's building Southeast Asia’s #1 AI distribution platform, helping people discover, learn, and build with AI through viral media, events, and community. Her mission is to make AI more accessible while helping the region’s next generation of builders thrive. She previously transformed her family’s struggling tyre business from near bankruptcy into a multi-million-dollar automotive company. By leveraging content, social media, and storytelling, she turned a traditional workshop into one of Singapore’s most-watched automotive brands, earning the nickname “Tyre Jie Jie” and becoming known for her unconventional approach to growth.

The Lorong Builds Community is a group of like-minded hobbyists and practitioners who are keen to nurture a community of builders within Lorong AI, collectively exploring emerging technologies and building projects together. They hope to make this a space for safe learning, connecting people with similar interests, and encouraging curiosity and innovation.

More About the Series

Gotong Royong is a traditional Malay concept whereby people living in a kampong (village) do things together and help each other in the spirit of goodwill and reciprocity.

This series brings that spirit to Lorong AI as we create regular opportunities for the Lorong AI community to tackle challenges collectively. When we learn, troubleshoot and build together, everyone progresses faster.
