The Work In Motion

Live Paint Experience

Come watch a painting come to life, right in front of you. Artist Lateefah Ruff Taylor is bringing The Work In Motion to downtown Durham, and you're invited to see every brushstroke, every bold color choice, and every surprising turn as it happens.

Live painting is a whole different experience from walking through a gallery. You get to see the process, not just the finished piece. Watch Lateefah Ruff Taylor work live inside the gallery as a piece continues to take shape through color, layering, texture, movement, and instinct.

Guests will get a rare look at the part of the process usually kept private, including the changes, decisions, and moments that happen while a work is still becoming filled with good energy while music sets the mood and the room buzzes around you. Wander over for a closer look, ask Lateefah what she's thinking, or just stand back and let the colors pull you in. Drop in after work, bring a friend, and stay as long as you like.

Expect good vibes, great conversation, and the kind of evening that feels a little bit like a party and a little bit like a front-row seat to something special. You'll leave inspired, and maybe even with a new favorite artist. Come hang out at The Parlour on Parrish 104 W Parrish St on November 11 and be part of the moment where the work is made.
